A neighbours laptop is still logging off after approx first logging off 18 hours ago.. Even after shutting off last night, still logging off now after being turned on a few hours, thank you in advance.

took battery out, put back in again, still logging off.

Unplug from mains, take battery out, unplug the HDD.

this thing is still under guarantee, i think she should take it in, if i go into the bowels they might null and void it. I thought there might have been a few buttons i could press. cheers

hold the off button for seven seconds it should turn it off then restart in safe mode and you should be able to sort from there

When laptops close the lid they sometime lean on to a tiny switch which is in effect a sleep button / standby button.

Close the lid any you may see where this switch is.
Mines close to the top of my keyboard.

But just make sure its not stuck or something is jamming it.
