Right guys. I have 40 odd hour long "video clip"s. They are 350 megs in size and id like to write them to a handful of DVDs (i have 4.7Gig DVD-Rs)

What software do i need to write them
Where can i get said software
What format is a video clip (it doesnt say MPEG or AVI it just says "video clip" in properties
Can i make a menu on the DVD so u can choose which of the clips u want to watch?
How many can i fit on a DVD,im assuming it has a time limit as well as a size limit, cos 4.7 Gig would be loads of these clips

depends if your writign them as data so they can only be read by a computer or as a dvd so that it can be read by a dvd player. The one I use and find that doesnt crash is Ulead DVD MovieFactory 4.0 which I *ahem* paid for

I use TMPGEnc for encoding avi/mpg/mpeg video clips into dvd format then import using Ulead DVD MovieFactory. For other formats, I use 4U AVI MPEG Converter to convert to avi or mpeg then use TMPGEnc to encode to dvd format.

depends on the bit rate of the audio and video of each clip, the higher the quality, the more size obviously. Just try converting one clip with a small bitrate and see what the output file size is, adjust the settings so that the clips fit on the dvd. an easier but longer way is to have Ulead DVD MovieFactory 4 compress them for you so that they fit onto dvd just click the compress button before encoding/burning to dvd
