ick, I remember programming ascii christmas trees, complete with flashing "fairy light" @ signs on BBC.

They were fun, but the homework from that class, still gives me nightmares....

I remember that teletext editing software on the BBC.

nothing like the 80s for home computers i had a spectrum/c64 and an atari st.

First post of this thread looks like the bbc computers from years ago not an atari

It is from a BBC computer it is an educational word processor called Folio it was created for primary school children although it could be used in a professional enviroment with addons and wot nots.. It was the first piece of software i got taught to use in school.. I also used to play Grannys Garden and Chucky Egg thanks to Snodvan i have a BBC which is getting used all the time cause im a sad geek who loves the BEEB

a Unique Universal II. At Uni I progressed on to an ICL 1903A, programmed using Fortran with punch cards (I still have some of the cards)

Hahaha love it jase basically thats all they where door stoppers they didnt DO much with 1kb of memory or if you where lucky for an upgrade to 16kb WOW!! lol..

Personally I was never sufficiently agile with the fingers to cope with this sort of game. However, I remember well when my daughter would not come for her dinner one night because she wanted to reach 1,000,000 score on Chuckie Egg. She did it, and more at other times

The printer was a useful as an old asda till receipt(<prob spelt wrong lol)

i had one of these,and if any of you can remember that at the time there was a magazine out which listed programs that you could type out yourself.took me two days to type out a game called fred.....caveman that threw rocks,great game.

I hated typins cause it looked good on the photo they had but when you played it was shite and awaste of time..

Yeah, the picture was always really good but it was always a case of a pixel firing pixels at other pixels.
