Im struggling to see what role this will play in the world. Its probably already a feature in Vista or will be in SP1/SP2.

It has a couple of advantages over standard methods, but it will most probably be the next Vista Aero 3D desktop... a good idea in principle, but usability wise it just doesnt hack it like it should.

Watch the video again and listen to the bit about Flick R

basically turning a 2D image into a 3D walk through experience.

We may not see the need for it right now,
but i can see it being used as a search feature thing
as the guardian bit shows.

i've used ebooks numerous of times in the past... audio mastering, ableton live, php, other web design related... only reason they havent taken off is because they can be easily obtained for zilch... well, that's wot i think anyways tease

as for interactive tv, i use that too... obviously only when there's events on, ie: snooker, tennis, or decent footie - otherwise it's useless lol

also, i guess sky+ (recording programs for viewing later could be classed as interactive tv) - which i do every day lol

Sky+ isnt interactive television. Interactive TV is things like player cam and multi angles on Sky Active...

Neither of which are in prominent use, hence Sky have slowed down and in some cases removed the development of interactive TV. They are fads.

As for ebooks, they havent taken off simply because people want to read real books rather then look at a screen.
