Hi
Leasowe Library will be 50 years old in April. For our upcoming celebrations I was wondering if anyone had any old photographs of the library (old or new) or old Leasowe landmarks. Any links to newspaper articles? Also any old stories of the library would be a nice touch.
Thanks

You better be quick because Earlston Reference Library have plenty of photos of Leasowe and documents BUT Wirral Archives plan to move it all to Canning Street... and instead of just dropping by to look at any historical material at the library you have to book an appointment at Wirral Archives.

Also find my facebook group 'Wallasey Memories' which has plenty of old Wallasey photos. Link is on History of Wallasey website.

Just a small point, but Wirral Archives is freely open to the public from 9-30am to 4-30pm every weekday, and does NOT operate any appointment system whatsoever. It is useful to the staff if you contact them in advance and let them know what you want to look at, so they can get it out ready for you, but you do not have to 'book an appointment'.
