Getting dizzy trying to find it on the Emapping Vicorian Cheshire map! Any help, (or even a clue) much appreciated.
Can't help, but if you're searching, look for Halkyn St. This is the older spelling.

Didn't know it as a street then.It was more of a track.
There was a boxing gym there where the McAteers used to train.
Not sure if I ever saw the car park open except maybe once a year when Hardings? put a rail track and miniature train in there. Can anyone confirm this?

The boxing gym was called the Willaston Amateur Boxing Club.

I can remember that the car park was an emergency water supply pool during the war period, it was fenced off with chain-link, we used to pass it each time we went to the Queens Cinema.
Hi Guys,
Can I be cheeky and ask you were you get these street maps from? I have often wanted to know of places that no long exist, knocked down for rebuilding and whole streets missing.
I do a lot of genealogy and Im always seeking information like this.
Many thank for reading this.
if anyone is interested i have a street guide dated november 1969 liverpool post and echo gone a bit discoloured there is no maps in it you just look up the name of the road you want and it tells you what its off
Thanks for this info workingclasshero, but I have similar to what you mention here, it's maps I'm looking for, preferably online ones ...
