It's been a lot of years since I've been to clubs like the Majestic, Craftsman's, Empress and the Apollo.
I've been wondering what dances they do now where a boy can cut in and ask a girl to dance
Some I remember were
jive
the twist
the stomp
time warp
harlem shuffle
slow smooch end of evening

What do they do now to meet and chat up a girl?

They dont really bother anymore, just wait for the girl to come to them laffin. I wish it was more like the old days of politeness, curtesy and dancing with style and grace.
