The Open Arms pub (used to be the Avenue) in Claughton has some fab old pics, dunno if they are what you want but might be helpful, or they might point you in the right direction where to get them.

When I was 18 in1960, on a Friday night we used to start at the top (Claughton road end) and have a pint in every pub on the way down, I don't think we got to the Standard at the bottom very often, there was a lot of pubs in Bentink street.
Oh happy days (and prices,) when I worked in the Grange on Charing Cross a pint of bitter was 1shilling 6 pence approx 7 1/2 pence today, a short was 2 shilling and 4 pence about 12 pence today, when you were getting a round in,if somebody asked for a short they weren't very popular, it was nearly twice the price of a pint.

Hi Derek,

I think this is a picture of the "Scotch Thistle" at the junction of Bentinck and Fox Street

My nan used to live at No 26 Fox Street opposite the Brougham Mission.
