The only reference I can find is that the High Sheriff of Clwyd in 1944 was a Richard Felix Summers of Denna Hall, Burton Point, Wirral, Cheshire. Possible start point?

This guy also appeared to be one of the Directors of a mining company.

pretty much similar to what ive found.

I know there was a colliery further up the coast line and there used to be a small jetty in the area

theres a mention that the area was busy with smuggling which is where my interest starts, i went passed the old carved namestone in a wall and a really interesting small building with stained glass windows further down the lane.

here is the locations
a is the name stone
b..the unusual building

name comes from the area which was once known as "Danewell" - Field/Spring of the Danes depending on the interpretation.

You could maybe try reading up on some of the stuff written by W.F.Irvine. He did a study called 'Notes on the Old Halls of Wirral' many years ago. Not sure if it mentions Denna Hall specifically, but there is a lot of other interesting stuff in there.

See about a third of the way down the screen on this link:

Denna Hall and Ness Colliery were originally owned by the Stanley family.
