Hi All,

My Nan is looking for a bit of info, as she was adopted from Nazareth House in Birkenhead when she was young. Has anyone got any info on the orphanage, or knows where any records would be kept? She just wants any information that anyone may have on the orphanage? I know it's now a care home instead!

hi,ive come across this same querie myself of late,my mother in law was too at nazareth house when she was adopted,she is currently receiving help locating her records(if possible)via the after adoption service via social services!!they seem to be the only people who can locate records if there is any to be found!!!hope this helps.

I was in Plas Gwyn mother and baby home in the 1970's- the babys from there were sent to Nazarth House for a fact- plas gwyn was in Wrexham North Wales , run by nuns who were also midwives- so im guessing that this place is a link to you search?

less babies for adoption! so no money simple as that.
