I grew up in the 50's and 60's in this area. Did anyone else on here? The old childhood haunts included Woodville and Glover bombed heaps, Glover St. placard, Bill's yard, the cellar steps (behind the bakery), the 'churchy' (St. Michaels' grounds) and the Joey's (St. Joseph's school) playground.
Woodville Road was not a big road but many families had kids. There seemed to be hundreds of us. The older kids were known as the bigguns and the younger ones as the nips.
Never a dull moment, probably thanks to absence of P.C. and the nanny state.
