Manxman, film being S.O.S. Titanic??
I think thats the one!Titanic is what i had in my mind, but wasn't sure,as it was my drunken teenage years!
I was given some of the ships lanterns that were used in the film,so thanks for clearing that up for me.
HI,poodlepup ask YEWGARTH he nows all about the I.O.M ferrys cheers mike..
Wasn't YENTYL featuring Barbara Streisand filming a scene on the ship round about that time? it would fit the bill.
mmm it would seem a few films have used the ships.
Thanks for your replies.
Wasn't it Chariots of Fire?
you're right on all accounts!
you're right on all accounts!
Who, everyone?
Yes, all the films mentioned on this thread so far had scenes of the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company vessels.
The closing section of 'Yentl' featured 'Manxman'
Bob.
This piece of the Manxman was actually refurbished for a part in a film/drama, I don't know which one though.
The Manxman was, as Helles said used in "Chariots of Fire". Was shown at the old/real Woodside landing stage. Everyone was boarding the "Ferry to Calais" !
