Does anyone know of the history of the Grange being used as a mortuary in the war?

Can't say I've ever heard anything about that or any other pub being used as mortuaries, they were still open as pubs, In the event of mass loss of life they turned to the swimming baths, church halls etc.

I do not know about the Grange in Moreton but on the right hand side of the Black Horse (or whatever it is called now) in Wallasey Village - the OLD one, not the current one - there used to be a building that was used as the Village mortuary

. . . so mum tells me
. . . mum is 93 today so she has been out all day with me & Mrs for a gander around a couple of garden centres and then dinner.
