Got an e mail on my site and was wondering if anyone here can help...

"Dear Dr Frick

I wonder if you can help me. If not could you please put me onto someone who can.

My name is Vivienne Kenter and I bought a pillbox or snuffbox with the name of Dale House, Barnston while I was in England.
This pillbox/snuffbox intreges me? It is about 5 cm high, shaped in a horse shoe and has what I think is a sort of fillegrain pattern on the sides.

I have looked on internet and it looks as though it could be a photograph of the Fox & Hounds, Barnston Village.
I have asked my daughter (who lives in England) to phone the telephone exchange and ask for the Fox & Hounds, Barnston Village. I am not absolutely sure that it of the pub as the photo on the internet is taken from the side and the photo of Dale House, Barnston on my pillbox is taken from the front. The photo on the pillbox is very faded.
All in all it fascinates me and I would like to know more about the pillbox/snuffbox.
It is shaped like a horse shoe, so I am assuming there is a horse connection. Was this made for a jubilium of some sort.
Please can you help me with this.

Thank you very much and am looking forward to hearing from you"
The Fox and Hounds is still there,I wonder if the big house next to it called Dale House, the pub has a web site, can't remember the url,I pass that way most days,so I can check the house name for you.
If you go to this site http://maps.cheshire.gov.uk/tithemaps/TwinMaps.aspx?township=EDT_35-2 and move along to Storeton road,Dale House existed in 1910 but now is the Barnstondale Centre Storeton Lane, about quarter of a mile away.
