If the deal goes through Alonso will become the second Liverpool player to join the Spanish giants after full-back Alvaro Arbeloa's switch to the Bernabeu last week.

Best passer of the ball in Europe imho. Will be sorely missed within the team. Hopefully though, we can at least keep ahold of Masch.
Benitez is said to have already had £40million to spend, surely now he has "got" to look at the possibility of bringing in David Villa to give us options and backup up front, and of course we are going to need a new CM - not an easy, or cheap task to replace Alonso. Direct replacement is impossible, I hope Benitez has something under his sleeves.
Still, it could fall through, here's hoping!! He's been a great servant to the club over the past 5 years however, and I don't think I could deny him the chance to live out a dream, and wish him all the success in the future if he does move. I just hope he does not become a bit-part player at Real what with all the other superstars they have there.
