lol am not sure I know my son has 2 and they are direct into his music system but they can go into an amp as well
if it helps the speaker wire is connected into back of speaker and can be released

Could you upload a pic of the rear of the speaker? Namely the bit where the wires go? If they arent active speakers, I would need to buy an amp for them. Im interested either way.

am in bebington why don't you just come look at them no harm in looking,they are just speakers to me sorry lol
