Hi8 is always analogue video and usually analogue audio but there was provision in the standard for digital sound.

The digital version was called Digital8 which used digital video and sound.

it is a digital i have just checked on the box as i didnt really know, digital sound and vision x

Perhaps stating the model number of what you are selling would be helpful.
