anybody know anyone who can supply and fit an auto g/box to a vectra sri and a rough price please. the cars an 03 plate.

I can tell you who NOT to go to (in my experience), Robbs Garage in Wallasey, they are meant to be a specialist auto gearbox centre, all they did with mine was to quote thousands to rebuild it, then put the wrong ATF in which killed the box within weeks.

Since then I've heard a LOT of horror stories about that place, both from individuals and a number of garages (I asked around to get a new box, and as soon as I mentioned Robbs...)

I found the Chester Auto Transmission place in Saltney to be REALLY good (and came highly recommended), they are always busy so it might not be a fast job, but quality is worth waiting for, and if nothing else when you go there you can see all the stretch limos they always seem to be working on.
