Talex Lite speed camera detector uses GPS technology to warn of fixed and mobile speed cameras. Talex Lite then with spoken voice alerts announces and displays the legal speed limit when approaching UK speed camera locations
The Talex Lite is 100% legal, state of the art speed camera detector with spoken voice alerts of UK speed camera locations. Talex Lite comes pre-loaded with a comprehensive speed camera database updated by ex-Traffic Police, and is ready to use straight from the box.

Talex Lite provides information of fixed, mobile and red light camera positions and accident black spots, making clear voice announcements. Talex Lite will warn you to reduce your speed if you are approaching a speed cameras site above the speed limit.

Talex Lite GPS speed camera alert system features an LED display, which provides the user with additional information to the voice announcements. Whilst driving the Talex Lite will display the current speed of your vehicle.

On approach to a speed camera location Talex Lite first sounds a chime followed by a voice announcement such as 'Warning speed camera 500yards ahead - limit 30mph'. This will typically happen at 500yards from the speed cameras position, (in some cases a 500yards warning is not ideal because of the road layout). A second chime is heard at 200yards from the speed camera site, and if the vehicle is still over the speed limit, a continuous warning is heard 'Warning - reduce speed' until the vehicle speed drops to the speed limit, or the speed camera site has been passed.

Talex Lite Features

- Warns to Gatso, Truvelo, SPECS, Speedmaster, DS2, traffic light cameras, accident blackspots and all other permanent safety cameras
- Clearly annouces and displays the legal speed limit when approaching camera sites
- Clear voice alerts
- Speed Sensitive
- Advises speed limit (for cars) at speed camera locations
- Over speed warning in close proximity to speed cameras
- Direction Sensitive
- Accident Black Spot Positions
- Accurate Speed Reading
- Lightweight compact design
- Easily transferable between vehicles (extra mounts available)
- Comprehensive UK speed camera database collated by experienced ex-Traffic Police

We originally bought 3 of the units between the family and had to pay for a 3 year subscription, but 1 subscription did all units, but apparently they are now free - click here. I think you would have to buy the data cable tho as these did not come as standard, they came in the subscription pack.

Talex have been bought out by a company called Novus, who have re-branded the talex lite as the novus delta, these offer free updates and these work on the talex lite as its exactly the same unit, you just need to get a data cable which retail at around £15 but Im sure with a bit of searching you could get one a bit cheaper.

not quite as easy as that...expert witnesses..like Traffic cops....have an awful lot of credibility in court.
and no...simply put..... it wouldnt be quoshed.....sorry to disapoint!

im not gonna reveal ALL the trade scerets...it would simply take too long to tell you about how and what you can done for speeding...but ask specifics...and ill tell you.

the device is all well and good for fixed cameras...no use against mobile ones we use locally...nor is it any good against a vascar fitted police vehicle or even a calibrated police speedo.

If that is the case, then it probably isnt much better than the speed camera's databases you can get for a lot of GPS systems?

Although, the POI list's do cost for them, in most cases, and this would be less hassle.
