Doing an experiment, and this is not one of the 33 rescued lions. That's so you don't have pre-conceived ideas.

Out of interest, when you see this face what is the first response you have ?

When I first set eyes on this picture, I felt humbled and a 'oneness'. His eyes said so many words, and yet knowing he is a wild animal, I wondered if our inner emotions of which we mostly control in certain circumstances, show who we really are and our basic deep rooted emotions are more compassionate than we think.

Maybe that sounds daft.

Women seem to have more compassion overall but is that because they are more honest or more susceptible to emotions ?

His name is Nero and he's very happy. If you want his story, I'll post it.

Ha ha , he's very well fed now.

Don't think we'll observe you in the same way though , Mikeeb.

Sadness is what I felt.....

In brief.
Masyra was first taken from the wild as a baby and then rescued from a cage in the streets of Cairo, Egypt, when she was a few years old . She had become too big to be a photo prop, and spent her days and nights in a cage not much bigger than a double bed. She was taken to Holland.
Nero was rescued as a four month old cub from a circus in Paris and also taken to Holland.
As soon Masyra set eyes on Nero,at the same place in Holland, she adopted him as her own and they have been together ever since. Transferred to Emoya Big Cat Sanctuary in South Africa, at the end of 2015, they now live together in a wonderful sanctuary. Both had been declawed and so are not able to go back into the wild, but they have the next best thing.
