In brief.
Masyra was first taken from the wild as a baby and then rescued from a cage in the streets of Cairo, Egypt, when she was a few years old . She had become too big to be a photo prop, and spent her days and nights in a cage not much bigger than a double bed. She was taken to Holland.
Nero was rescued as a four month old cub from a circus in Paris and also taken to Holland.
As soon Masyra set eyes on Nero,at the same place in Holland, she adopted him as her own and they have been together ever since. Transferred to Emoya Big Cat Sanctuary in South Africa, at the end of 2015, they now live together in a wonderful sanctuary. Both had been declawed and so are not able to go back into the wild, but they have the next best thing.
