Are there any cat groomers any where on the wirral. I brush my cat everyday as he is a long hair cat, but he has still got matts of hair right next to his skin, and I dont want to hurt him trying to cut them out, so I would prefer a specialist to give him a shave.

Hi I also have a long haired cat who gets really matted underneath. My dog groomer strips my cat once a year. I can give you her number if you pm me! But beware you will need thick gloves on to protect your hands as i have to hold cat down whilst she gets stripped !! She will come to your house so you can see what she is doing to your cat, I have used her for 6 years.

May I suggest that it is cruel to "Strip" a cat, you can buy a trimming comb called the "Furminator" at pets for home (£25). And it works well as I have 2 long haired cats.

I don't want to get him striped, just matts taken off him. I have a comb I brush him every day with, and he loves it, he lays down on his back showing his belly every time he sees me pick comb up.

I will go get one of them Furminators, thanks Nigel
