My cat has just frightened the life outta me!
Just sitting here and she was on my knee when all of a sudden she turned to look over my shoulder! And I mean she was glaring!
She's done this before but not like she just did and I shoved her off my knee, and she was still starring behind me, I told her to stop and she did, but God she frightened me,now she is on the floor and she's staring at me!!
Does anyone else's cat do this??

read something a few days ago on here i think ,about cats and dogs seeing ghosts .its more than likely seeing a shadow or one of your hairs moving.

Cats see and sense things we can't. It may be sounds of other cats, noises from out of our range of hearing. A cat can become stressed and anxious if they are in a new house and need time to adjust. Just continue to give him the love and security you have been, and I hope all will be well.

while i believe in ghosts etc

it could be anything beyond our range of hearing, cats can hear ultrasonic sounds so it could easily be a noise that electronics are making, a sound from outside, even mice in the walls... as cats are predators they will always investigate things, or at least pay close attention to them, hence the term "curiosity killed the cat" as they investigate everything...

edit: or maybe she's just hungry and wants food...

Chris7777, I believe animals can see auras and there are such things as 'auras'. It maybe depend on how your mood is. If you are relaxed you might give off some sort of energy that differs from when you could be stresed.
My dog behaved in a similar manner, for years. Everytime I came home from a church service, he would either sit on the floor or get on my knee, gaze at the area above my head or put his nose in the air whilst he looked around,as if he was sensing something . I just put it down to me being more peaceful within.

My initial thought to this post was (no offence) Is this person stoned? lol

I tend to agree with the replies, animals are much more perceptive than us mere humans. If you are uncomfortable say or shout 'Please leave me. i do not want you here'.

Thanks for your replys, I like to think it's someone watching over me....like my brother who passed away 5yrs ago or my dad 48yrs ago or my nan 45yrs ago, or maybe it's all 3 of them making sure I behave myself LOL........I can laugh now but she frightened the life out of me last night, as I said she's done it before but last night she really glared at something.

Rudebox.....no I wasn't stoned ha ha.

Granny...yes I was relaxed at the time.....but after she did that I wasn't, ha ha.

Just had a thought....we used to have another cat with her and she used to torment him and leap out from behind doors at him, he was put to sleep 5yrs ago cos of cancer, maybe he's come to get his own back lol.......I have heard that animals and baby's can see things we can't cos of their innocence.
