How sad there are so many casually bred kittens struggling to find homes . Rescue facilities are bulging at the seams and struggling with costs. Help out your nearest rescue by giving one of their cats a home if you've decided on having one.

Too many irresponsible owners not getting them spayed or neutered

Too many irresponsible owners giving away or selling kittens at 8 weeks old.
They are not ready, they are un socialised. hence why many kittens end up unwanted.

read up people. kittys should stay with mum until 12 weeks!!

Spot on Volly. For some reason people get it into their heads either that THEIR cat wont get caught by a Tom, or worse, they selfishly forget about overcrowded rescues, and think it will be cute to let their cat have kittens just once 'so the children can witness the miracle of birth' . Well if these people consider themselves animal lovers, why dont they just get learning about cat/kitten care and then offer to foster a pregnant cat for a rescue?
Mind, some of us animal lovers need to make more effort to make casual animal breeding, more socially unacceptable. How often do we forget we should be disapproving, and instead oooh and aaaah, over cutey kittens that people tell us their 'moggies' have had - making the owners almost feel theyve done something worthwhile !
