Both are pretty modern. The second picture I reckon is older.

Where the main door is used to be a drive way into the yard, or whatever, at the back. The part of the pub which is now on the left of the door way, used to be a wool shop, but was closed down for years, allthough it did have the net curtains on the window, and a ball of pale blue, and a ball of pink wool, and an advert for British woll products which remained there for YEARS. The pub was eventually extended about 1980/81.

The Royal Oak use to be part of a row of houses called "Dean's Terrace".

They used to have great chicken pies as well! grin
