The Hotel Victoria opened in 1830. Next door to the hotel on Albion Street were the Assembly Rooms, in 1907 a lecture was given here by Dr Crippen, and three years later Mrs Pankhurst addressed an audience.

Two more shots below of the Hotel Victoria, taken in 2003.
n.b. I've just noticed the large yellow letters 'EWS' painted on the boundary wall, in the second shot, above. A leftover from WW2, EWS standing for 'Emergency Water Supply'.
