I used to meet my dad here after work every night and get a lift home, went on to work and play darts here for a while. Propriator at the time was Norman Poole, 1986-ish. Used to fancy his youngest daughter, took her to the Unit 4 in Wallasey to see Rocky 4. Didn't work out though, ah well.
A work mate of mine Tom Vick from Leasowe used to visit & play the piano there on Friday nights after we all got paid. Then we used to go to The Little Brown Jug.
did the Little Brown Jug only have a bar and no parlour
I remember about 14 of us doing Zorbas dance on the wooden floorboards in there
I was born about 150 yards from there and when we went on a pub crawl starting York, Waterloo,George and Dragon, Firemans we usually ended up in the Little Brown Jug

THE Tranmere Rovers pub - from the mid 80s.
Had my first "real" date in the Free Library in 1977 !!.....Aahhh....memories smile
It was our lunchtime pub as we worked over the way, and it did a good chilli and chips.

Currently trying to find out which brewery owned it around about the 1880s. smirk

Chap who had that pub in 1978 - 1980 went on to manae the Basset Hound. Nice chap.
