Our bins was supposed to be emptied on Thursday last week and they didnt turn up, so i phoned street scene and they told me that it was showing as Biffa could not gain access, which isnt true as i have looked back on CCTV footage and there is two ways into our road anyway.

So she told me they would be with us between 7am and 12pm on the Friday, so on the Friday 14:00pm came so i rang them again and they told me before 5pm.

So i waited till 4pm and again nothing so i phoned them again and i was told by a male that it hadn't been logged correctly on there system and it hadn't gone through to Biffa.

And he told me he would contact the Biffa management and that it would be emptied by 5pm which it was so i had to put my bin away again.

So i emailed them and told them that if it wasn't sorted out then i would take all the bags out of my bin and put them in the public street bins in my area, and now they haven't replied again.

There is also a local chancellor involved and he isn't getting anything done eather.

Hells Bells Victor, it's not the end of the world. Don't put your bin bags on the public highway or in public bins as that's anti-social, and is a fineable offense too. Our road was often ignored by the bin men cos it is a one way street and has a bend in it, so if the local morons parked on the bend the wagon couldn't get down and we went over a month without the bins being emtpied, not to mention last xmas when we had all that ice to deal with. Our road even got its own road sign telling people not to park on the bend on bin days, and that has worked, fortunately. Take a leaf out of my and my neighbours books and accept that sh*t happens occasionally but it's not worth busting a gut over-or wasting your time phoning the council as that usually gets you nowhere unfortunately. Have a big chill pill and a hug instead smile

Well i am not fackin stinking my house out with rubbish left inside my house, get a grip kid and don't be speaking like a local skally because it doesn't make you sound hard bud.

And im sure there is lots of people on here who phone to complain about bins not being emptied because i know i know a lot who do this as they don't want the outside of there house looking like a local tip.

And baring in mind i am paying GOOD money of my own for this service so i am entitled to it.

Put them outside the town hall, so all the over-paid council staff have to walk over them.

There's no need to hurl abuse on here at people only offering friendly advice. Maybe you are used to being badly spoken to but I was not speaking like a skally, I was trying to be helpful.

It seems to me you have gone through the right channels, made the calls, emails, and the councillor, there's not much more you can do and stay within the law. If its a regular occurrence and the road is at times a problem to get down, maybe all the neighbors could send a letter in requesting the smaller bin wagon do your pick ups. If it were me and it bothered me that much, i know i shouldn't have to do it, i would put the bags in the boot of the car and take them the tip.

Got no car mate, and its only us who live in this road so its only us who can complain, got no neighbors lol.

That is an idea about the small collection vehicle, the thing that windes me up the most is that they have lied to me... We have CCTV footage to show there was nothing blocking our road all day.

PMSL. Victor you certainly picked a crackin' forum name. Power to you elbow mate, keep 'em coming. My sympathy is actually with you as well, binmen are getting to be a law unto themselves. Report last week that they wouldn't empty a bin because the handles were facing the wrong way. Says it all.

happy

Bit of a moaner myself once I kick off, it does you good to get it off your chest and sometimes you actually manage to get something done. Not often though.

The bin wagon sometimes doesn't come to our close because of badly parked cars blocking the roads. Normally collect them next day though.

I actually made a point to Streetscene 2 years ago about the lack of yellow lines stopping people parking on the corners. I got a phone call today from traffic management saying they were looking into it crazy

They might want to use it again.

does the street next to you get there bins Emptied, if so couldn't you take it there? I know it's a pain in the ass, but if it gets emptied its a small price to pay. smile
