Smelly Bins

As the summer gets closer the weather is also hotting up,
but our bins are heating up too.

Are your bins starting to smell on the 2 week collections?
I know my Brown Bin at the mo is stinking, and that's
only from grass and garden cuttings.

One day it smelt of seaweed ?

Is your Bin Smellier for a 2 week collection?

I personally don't care, i like the fact we're able to 'easily' re-cycle much of my domestic waste. A small amount of odour from the bins is a small price to pay to help the environment IMHO.

ive just cut my grass, and i have a fungus bomb growing
in my brown bin.

okay so i forgot to put it out last week,
its going to be super rank after 4 weeks.

Even the fly's are moving out lol...

I live on beechwood estate an i am asking people if they have a smelly GREEN BIN with MAGGOTS over loading and falling to the floor. As i have two children i think weekly collection should be considered again WHAT DO YOU THINK ?

Need to be re assessed as the summer heats things up. It may be good in theory but in practice its not nice. I sympathise with houses with the problems with maggots.

Try closing the lid to stop strays using it raftl

Couldnt resist it lol...

Ive just cleaned my brown bin of mulchy smelly grass from the
bottom of my bin. In to the road as its environmentally friendly.

That's what i think anyways lol

So my bin wont smell until it gets more grass cuttings again.

Lol, you whole road will be smelling now grin

Instead of just the bin, let everyone have a whiff of it looool.
Posted By: Mark Re: Smelly Bins - 21st Aug 2007 11:31am
Well the problem i have is where else could i have put this smelly goo ??

Drains >> Could block them.
Other Bin >> Cant lift it high enough
Road >> Makes sense.
