Pay as you throw your rubbish out?
Would you prefer this method?

Its being used in other councils where they chip the wheely bin.
This could lead to charging by weight too.

So be warned....

definately not.

Pardon the pun, what what a rubbish idea.

Waste is inevitable, there is nothing we can do about it (apart from recycle what is recyclable).

Its as stupid as having to pay to take a dump or go for a piss.

I'd end up filling each rubish bag with helium to get the cost down somehow. Either that or fly tip!

They can try and bill me... but it wont work, all my rubbish goes down a communal chute haha!

Its about the only advantage of living in a flat - I dont have to worry about all the bin rubbish (hehe theres that pun again) that is going on atm lmao!

I guess it would depend how much they wanted to charge, and how much your council tax would be reduced by to compensate for it.

I can see there being a massive increase in fly tipping should it happen...

I was watching that CH4 Dispatches.

Its not on the cards at the mo on the wirral to the best of my knowledge, but it did have a negative effect in other councils around the UK.

They use this system in Amsterdam (Featured on the TV)
and there used to it now, but the biggest issue that
came out of it was the amount of packaging that food is
wrapped in.

There was more volume of packaging, to the food its self.
People would put there bins out when ever they were full.

And then to top it off RATS due to 14 day pick ups.

The shit is hitting the fan.

Pay-as-you-throw Pilot Schemes Approved.

So what about when your bin is over full one week and you put some in the neighbours bin, (with consent ofcourse). or if they bring in the pay as you throw scheme, people will go around putting their waste in others bins.

it won't work.

1st the black market offered reverse technology playstations
then the PS2, followed by the XBOX,
now its gonna be reversed technology wheelie bins that are the big money spinners. lol

its simple...the "amazing" labour government hasnt met european targets with regard to landfill..and are being fined by europe....thats gets passed onto the councils...who have to find a way to pass it on to us suckers....the mugs who pay their council tax.
We get less and less each year..and it goes up more and more!
Imho and personal experience those who "use" council services more than others are those who DONT pay...really fair huh?
