Father’s rendition of Blackbird to his son hours before he passes away is beautifully heartbreaking

This might be one of the most difficult videos to get through without crying ever.

Musician Chris Picco was recently filmed gently singing the Beatles song Blackbird to his three-day-old baby, the aptly named Lennon.

Lennon’s birth just 72 hours before was a complicated one, and his mother Ashley sadly died after giving birth to him.

Hours after Chris serenaded his son, baby Lennon also passed away.

The video of one of the last intimate moments between the father and son was uploaded to Youtube by a friend where it instantly went viral.

A memorial fund was also set up following the tragic event to cover Chris’ expenses.



Chris posted a heartfelt message to the memorial page thanking his friends and family for their support and paying tribute to his wife and son.

‘I am so thankful for the four unforgettable days I got to spend with him. His mommy would have been so beyond joy to see him and to hold him, touch him, bathe him, sing to him – as I have had the privilege of doing,’ he said.

Always raises those big questions in life--poor fellow-lets hope he can recover.. looks like he started well so soon after his partner passed away

So very sad. How hard must it be to see life as good again. Two it just seems so unfair! Hope he can recover and find some happiness and hope in the future.

So sad and yet we all still think we have it hard. How does anybody cope with something so tragic ?
