Michael Payne, the father of murdered school-girl Sarah Payne, has died aged 45.

His family paid tributes to him after his body was discovered at his home in Kent on Monday.

The 45-year-old was believed to have developed an alcohol problem after his daughter Sarah was abducted and killed in 2000.

A Kent police spokesman said: ‘The death is not being treated as suspicious. A report will be prepared for the coroner.’

Michael’s children Lee and Charlotte paid tribute to their father on Facebook.

yep read this earlier. Poor fellow. don't know if he had his "demon" problems before his daughter murdered but either way devastation for all concerned. Hope his spirit can torment his daughters murderer
