Sad news of the murder of these two young police officers. Sorry if this offends but the death penalty is the only answer for this animal. Rip the two innocents.

Very sad disturbing news, we need to review the death penalty, especially for cases like this. R.I.P to these two officers.

I can only agree with you, well said. He has no rights in my mind, he certainly gave those poor girls no chance at all. Lured them to their deaths, a definite case of premeditated murder. may they rest in peace and may God bless them.

The use of hand grenades is also a very nasty turn of events.

i agree with death penalty the only trouble is there are to many do gooders around so he will probably be sent to mental hospital and be protected. R.I.P the officers

The death penalty should be in place for certain
types of murdur, if it proved without a shadow of
a doubht, that the accused comitted it, plus the
nature of the killing, and their mental state, and if
their likely to do it again.

This was a truly awful case of premeditated murder, I don't think there is much doubt about that.Trouble with death penalty is that there is no conclusive proof that it ever did actually stop murders being committed.I think maybe the real problem is that we all see prison as an easy life and perhaps for murder it should be a different form of prison sentence with what most of us would perceive as real punishment. The death sentence will never come back in this country or anywhere else where it has been abolished.
Posted By: Dilly Re: Murdered Police women - 19th Sep 2012 2:30pm
Send this man to prison and there will always be a chance he will kill again, could be an inmate a p.o or anyone that visits him for any reason. The death penalty is the only way we will be sure he cannot kill again.
Posted By: sunnyside Re: Murdered Police women - 19th Sep 2012 2:47pm
I totally agree with you dilly.
Posted By: Salmon Re: Murdered Police women - 19th Sep 2012 3:50pm
But you will never ever get the death penalty back so no point in even debating it
Posted By: dizdazdoz Re: Murdered Police women - 19th Sep 2012 4:47pm
Surely forums are a place for debate?

Sick people like this, paedo's, child killers etc should all be executed in my opinion.

I would go as far as to say anyone who will never be released should be executed, prison should be for rehabillitation and if they are never being released whats the point? save money by execution.
Posted By: Salmon Re: Murdered Police women - 19th Sep 2012 5:44pm
True, forums are for debating but I see no point in debating something that cannot be changed. In truth executions cost more than life sentences as they attract appeal after appeal with all the huge costs associated with the expensive barristers, law Lords, Brussells etc.

I guess we are in a debate hers!

I think we have two different views hey, good to debate things though.

Back on topic R.I.P to the officers.

I beg to differ. What about killers who are released and kill again, killing children as well as adults? Where is the justice for a victim's family who suffer a life sentence when some killers are released after serving as little as 12 years in prison for taking a life?

The death penalty would be brought back if public opinion was a little bit stronger. Politicians are supposed to rule for the peoples will, not for their own benefit and beliefs. The trouble is that we are ruled exclusively by an educational elite who are the product of public schools and the Oxbridge stranglehold on this country. They are all toffs or aspiring toffs and liberal thinking do-gooders who want to tend over us, their flock, like some beneficent master.

But maybe you are right. The politicians can't even stop the present day bank's usury where my mortgage rate is ten and a half times the Bank of England base rate. How on Earth do I expect them to do the correct thing like executing Dale Cregan, Peter Sutcliffe or Ian Huntley?
Posted By: Salmon Re: Murdered Police women - 20th Sep 2012 6:28am
I have absolute symapthy for the victim's family which is why I said that for murder the prison sentence should be different and of course that means life means the rest of the murderer's life.
The other reason the death penalty will not come back is that it is enshrined in EU law.
In this awful case the killer was already on bail accused of another murder which really does beggar the question why on earth release accused murderers on bail.I guess human rights would come into that even though this guy seems to have no human feelings.

Salmon you are debating well with some very valid points considering you thought this topic unworthy of debate.
Posted By: Salmon Re: Murdered Police women - 20th Sep 2012 7:27am
True but I have not changed from my original point that the death penalty will never ever come back despite the popular press with their on line polls.
Posted By: Dilly Re: Murdered Police women - 20th Sep 2012 7:49am
There you go again debating, keep up the good work because the subject has touched a lot of hearts . Maybe just maybe because of the nature of this horrific crime, our mamby pamby politians may have a rethink.
Posted By: Salmon Re: Murdered Police women - 20th Sep 2012 8:17am
Not much debating going on, may be too early
Posted By: Dilly Re: Murdered Police women - 20th Sep 2012 8:41am
Maybe you put too good an argument .

so so sad, may they RIP,
i dread to think what these poor girls familys are going through.
Posted By: oldpm01 Re: Murdered Police women - 20th Sep 2012 4:10pm
at least they have arrested the idiot who set up the facebook page supporting the killer - something wrong with some elements of our society when things like that happen
Posted By: atw1960 Re: Murdered Police women - 20th Sep 2012 7:23pm
Re the Facebook trolls who praised the subhuman who committed this crime - I can't begin to fathom their mindset . Quite apart from the awfulness of what he did , some of them describe him as a 'hero'-I understand a hero to be a teenaged kid in an army uniform facing death daily in Afghanistan or a young policewoman going (unarmed) into an unknown situation. The irony seems to be lost on them .
The technology we have at our hands nowadays is fantastic-people can debate subjects without ever meeting and maybe express opinions that others may find distasteful-but that is the price we pay for having freedom of expression.I know this has been discussed before on Wiki - I believe that you shouldn't say anything on any forum that you wouldn't say to another's face .
Finally, I hope the two young officers RIP and their families take comfort from the knowledge that they were doing a job they obviously loved.

Trolls are sad lonley people who only have a keyboard as a friend,it is good to know that most of us are not this sick.Trolling must start to be treated as more serious crime, never mind the right to freedom of speech. they must be stopped.
Posted By: sunnyside Re: Murdered Police women - 20th Sep 2012 9:10pm
Yes you are right, in fact all social networking sites are having problems with trolls and people causing allsorts of problemsi.e. a poor mother who found out her daughter was dead on facebook, i find it very disturbing indeed.

Didn't we have the same when Raoul Moat blinded the policeman after going on the run.As you have all said it is incredibly sickening to read about such things. Social networking sites surely owe a duty of care to everybody.ATW1960 hits the nail on the head with the freedom of speech comment.
