I couldn't help but feel a huge level of respect for these volunteers.
'Skilled Veteran Corps' founded by retired engineer, 72
Of the 180 volunteers some are as old as 78
Youngsters have more to live for, they argue
Dozens of pensioners are preparing to risk their lives heroically in an effort to clean up the Fukushima Dai-ichi plant in Japan.
The Skilled Veterans Corps, as the volunteers have named themselves, have recruited some 180 members aged between 54 and 78 for the cause.
They will be gratefully received by the workers at the nuclear plant, who have been battling to cool reactors since an earthquake and a tsunami rocked the country in March and sparked fears of a nuclear fall out.
