TWO suspected bungling burglars were caught when police followed footprints in the snow after a late-night raid.

The crooks were caught out by the sudden snowfall as they tried to break into a cash machine at a Stockbridge Village supermarket.

Police arrived at KS Convenience, in Denesway, in the early hours to find the alarms blaring and a hole cut out of the metal shutters.

But two pairs of crisp footprints were leading away from the shop across the blanket of snow which had fallen on the car park.

Officers followed the trail straight to the front door of a house a few streets away, where two men were arrested.

CCTV at the store captured two shadowy figures taking an angle grinder to the shutter before smashing their way through the glass door at around 2.30am on Tuesday, setting the intruder alarm off.

They then attacked the cash machine with the industrial saw but, with the fire alarms now going off too, fled empty-handed.

Reminds me of the lad that was chased by the Police one late night after assaulting a woman. No matter where he ran to he was caught up. The Police informed him he was the only guy wearing trainers with those little lights in the heel and could be seen in the distance.

What a tit.
Let's face it, if they have to commit such idiotic crimes to get by then they are not the sharpest pencils in the box anyway.
