Sex offender absconds from unit



AN URGENT appeal is being made to trace a missing patient who may be in Merseyside and is considered a risk to women and young children.

Mohammed Rafiq Passwala, 52, is originally from Bradford and was convicted of sexual offences in 1996.

He failed to return to Fieldhead Hospital in West Yorkshire.

Members of the public who see Mr Passwala are asked not to approach him but to contact police on 0845 6060606.

A MAN described as a danger to women and children has been found on Merseyside.

Missing patient Mohammed Rafiq Passwala was found at 3.45 today in Liverpool by West Yorkshire Police officers working for the Homicide and Major Enquiry Team.

He was detained under the Mental Health Act.

Passwala, a convicted sex offender, will now be assessed before being transported to West Yorkshire later this evening.

Id make sure I don't approach him, and I contact the plod... if only I had a clue who he is and what he looks like!!
