Anfield evacuated after 2 men when missing - 27th Oct 2015 7:21pm
Liverpool were forced to evacuate Anfield tonight as two men went missing inside the club’s stadium.
It’s believed that the pair were taking part in Liverpool’s stadium tour but that the two individuals went AWOL shortly after.
Merseyside Police have confirmed that they sent officers to the ground at around 3.05pm when staff at Anfield reported a “security concern”.
A spokesman for Liverpool also revealed that the club had taken the decision to evacuate the stadium shortly later and in compliance with the police.
It remains unclear exactly why this measure has been taken and if the two men have been found. “Merseyside Police can confirm officers are in attendance following security concerns at Anfield Stadium today (Tuesday, 27 October).
As a precautionary measure, the club has evacuated the stadium and officers are now carrying out enquiries at the scene.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call police on the 101 number or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.”
