Lorry overturned at Tesco Roundabout,Bidston, 2 cars also crashed, 3 ambulances, 5 police cars. I would avoid the area if you can.

Is that not the bitumen joint between two sections of asphalt laid by the paviour ? It seems to be in a smooth continuing arc with the kerbline. On a warm day, it tends to "bleed" and show up more. Could be wrong - probably am!

I loathe that roundabout at the best of times. Can't have been the wind.

Was a passenger in a car, driving past this today (after a detour). Looked pretty hard-core, spotted the rubber-necking photography brigade at the roadside.

They should hang their heads in shame....at least until we know that the driver is ok.

Reported by the Echo yesterday (Thursday) as having 'minor injuries' but not seen anything since.

The Police will be looking into how this happened, but got think was the design/condition of the road at fault [ Wirral roads, this is no suprise to me!] or was the lorry going bit too fast, unless he had brake problems!

Looking at SonyLegs' picture (https://www.wikiwirral.co.uk/forums...r/113329/filename/IMG-20150423-01081.jpg), it looks as though the lorry has clipped the kerb on the roundabout and has flipped that way.

Roundabout seems to have fresh rubber on it.

I don't think that curve of rubber came from the lorry tyres, its too narrow and no side-slip, he'd have clipped the signpost if he'd been leaning over much in that direction and position.

As the road has a positive camber there, I'd guess he's had a load shift in the trailer when he's turned sharply, possibly someone's shot out the junction and cut him up - all conjecture, we shall see.
