Coastguard warns 'stay away from coastline' as gale force nine winds expected to hit Wirral

COASTGUARDS have warned about the dangers of “wave watching” as gale force nine winds are expected to batter Wirral’s coasts this weekend.

The Met Office has issued a yellow warning for strong winds across the region for Saturday, with Liverpool Coastguard saying people can expect to see wind speeds of around 50mph.

You would think the coastguards would get it right wouldn't you? Force 9 is "Strong Gale" Met.Office description is "Severe Gale"
"Gale" is Force 8. The Beaufort Scale ain't rocket science !! smack

Plenty of safe places to watch the waves if its your thing. High Tide tomorrow around 1:30pm. About a 29ft tide --so big enough to get whipped up and over.

Certainly not enough to cause the damage on the scale of 2013.
