After months of speculation and building works going on in the vacant shop units next to the Prenton Park pub on Borough Road. It is going to be a new Iceland store which is due to open on May 13th.

It occupies the old video rental place and general store. This is all right next to the new Tesco Express which opened a year ago.

With a Co Op a few doors down and at least three chip shops, we are spoilt for choice.

I was wondering what was going to be there. I love Iceland smile

They just put up the banners today and the distinctive red shutters. It should be a good sized store.

I used to shop in Icelands Liscard store but since moving back I can now have another Iceland on my doorstep.

Iceland have some great offers, you even get the Greggs pasty range in there.

Don't suppose Tesco are too happy though..

I wonder if the brightsparks at Iceland have really thought through the delivery issues yet? Parking around there is already a nightmare and tesco have lots of issues getting deliveries in store on a daily basis

Didn't the roof of those shops used to have parking on it? I know it's going back many years that I last saw it being used, but maybe it's an option to open it again.

She right miss use to be boggens carpets has car parking spaces on top don't think it's in use anymore tho due to the cooler units from the fridges being up there

I agree about the parking problems. Tesco deliveries park up in front of the store. There did used to be parking on the roof of the building when Bogans carpet was there and the old Renault garage before that.

There is a car park on the roof of bogans carpet. It's becoming like a mini high street there, it's positive in my opinion. Parking is poo though.

The parking is dreadful, I've seen drivers just literally leave their cars just on the road next to a car parked in the parking bay so they are literally parked on the road. There is a school up the side of Tesco, it's an accident waiting to happen. It's bad enough with parents dropping their kids at school with the cars.

It was nuts out there today. They are replacing the bus stops along Borough Road at the moment and the one opposite the Tesco was being lifted into position. The traffic was busy along that stretch and a Tesco delivery HGV had to park up outside the new Iceland.

Not sure this has been thought through very well..

Due to the hard work of their refit team this store will now be opening a week earlier..:)

Tesco Metro welcome the new Iceland store saying "Many Tesco Metro stores work well with Iceland stores in close locality".
