A dog-owner agreed to have his animal put down after it attacked another dog in the street.

Police were called to the incident in New Ferry at around 10.40am today after a bull terrier-type dog attacked a black schipperke on Henthorne Road.

The owner of the terrier intervened and was bitten on the arm by his own animal, which was seized.

The injuries to the owner and schipperke were said to have been minor.

A police spokesman said the owner of the 'aggressive' dog agreed for it to be humanely destroyed.

Laws regarding dogs are getting pathetic now, it is in a dogs nature to attack other dogs.

Heres the chart topper, the owner whos dog was attacked has had his dog taken off him because his dog bit him!

Major WTF? moment right there!

Obviously the little fella was defending himself and would of been quite frightend of some dumb mutt attacking him, wouldnt of bitten his owner normally.

A big F. O. to the dicks that sit behind their desks making the rules.

What a JOKE this place is becoming.

Bull**** the owner agreed to have his dog destroyed my ass, more like he was forced!!!!

One less dangerous dog on the streets. Good riddance.
