I'm reading on an ever more popular social networking site that a lads body has been found on Bidston Hill, has anyone else heard this?
just about to post this up someones just text me 9 police cars and a paramedic parked up not far from the rods not sure about the body tho?
I heard this too "he frooze to death" he had his head between his legs also :s not sure how true it is like
Very sad
Very sad
Sad indeed, theres no need for people to be homeless or on the streets in this day and age!
Shame on those who let this man down!
May his death be on your conscience!
That will be all of us in society then.
there is a young man that sleeps rough on the estate ,he lives in bus stops and other places i knew him when he was a kid .i dont know if it is him they have found and i do hope its not very sad whoever it is
Very sad.
I don't know if he was a homeless person, but it's not always possible to help those people.
Remembering one man who would pass our office daily approx the same time, heading in the same direction. His trainers tied on with string, a short waist length jacket. His jeans had little left, only a thread preventing the front and the back from flapping up in the wind. That eventually snapped! His legs were purple, as was his face. He walked as if his every step was the last one, in such pain. Probably about 35/38yrs of age.
I went to the charity shop and got a coat for him, and a pair of trousers. He wouldn't take them. We offered mars bars and other foods, he wouldn't take them.
I phoned the Samaritans, and asked for advice. The advice given was, some people prefer to live that way and nothing can change the way they are. Then she asked if I was alright and needed any support. Very kind, but the poor man needed the help.
We had a really cold Christmas that year and after the holiday break, we never saw him again. I often wonder!
So although there are people willing to help, sometimes it's not so easy to get the response we would wish for.
Saddens me, there's a little old geezer often around new Brighton and liscard, I always give him money, he's an alcoholic but has always been polite over the years.
Shame really.
Well Ste, I'd keep giving him the money. If, at that stage alcohol is his best friend, no one will change him. It may well keep him warm at nights. God help them in this weather.
During periods of extreme weather, lately, there was a phone number being shared on facebook to assist rough sleepers finding shelter, for the night.
I am unsure whether this number is applicable during less extreme weather (in the process of finding out but i cant see why not).
However, the number is 0300 123 2041 if anybody wants to ring it on behalf of a rough sleeper, if you see one. Store it on your phone- may just save a life!

I see the same faces in Birkenhead- I dont give them money but I do buy them a cup of tea or a hot dog fron the stand if I'm 'flush'.
It's sad.....because people do look down on these "down and outs" but as granny says if they want to spend any money they get given on alcohol, so be it, if it's the only little bit of enjoyment they can get....let them have it !!....wish there was more we could do to help

It's connected to the Whitechapel Centre, Rude.

I tried to give a homeless person a couple of quid, about 22 years ago thinking I was doing a good turn and he threw it back at me and mumbled no charity!!
Its sad to hear of this, the same thing happened to my freind's brother. He was found at the back of the casino on Borough rd.He was staying at the ymca but they wouldn't let him in because he'd been drinking.
Its all about empathy, experiance and conditioning.
For those of us who know where the next meal is coming from and (enjoy) a roof over our heads, it is so easy to judge a homeless person.
Maybe the homeless person views life differantly-still had his Pride, Sense of Dignity etc
Another question: do those that 'offer' seek comfort for themselves or their perception of what the others need?
Read 'Maslow'.

If it's the the man I'm thinking of, (bearded with a walking stick), he's not homeless, he lives, or lived, in a care home on Penkett Rd. A non-recovering alcoholic.
A real shame things like this happen in our first world and that this man wouldn't, or felt he couldn't, find the help to get off the streets.
That's him shambo, has a slight limp too, I thought he was homeless as his clothes are always dirty.
Rude - almost everything we do is to please our own conscience - don't need Maslow or Freud to advise.
He wasn't a homeless person his name was Lee Dodd He was 42ish I knew him when I was a teenager. He was supposed to have died from the cold. Wasn't a drug addict or a bum he was a nice lad so sad RIP Lee
Just doesn't make sense does it....how someone can just curl up and die like that !!
Thanks For that number, ive stored it in my phone, like you say one day may save a life and its nothing to keep the number stored. So sad
number added to my phone,Thanks Rudebox
has there been any more news on this
