ASBO team to walk in aid of Seacombe residents
WIRRAL's Anti-Social Behaviour Team is this year walking the Wirral Coastal Walk to raise money for residents in Seacombe.
The team has this year decided to walk the fifteen mile walk to raise money for residents in Seacombe who suffered a very serious incident of anti-social behaviour.
On April 15 residents in Hillcroft Road were subjected to an lengthy incident involving two male youths who caused thousands of pounds worth of damage and distress to many residents and children.
Caroline Laing, manager of Wirral Anti-Social Behaviour Team, said: "We were all saddened by the incident that occurred, particularly the impact that this had on the community and wanted to do something to show our support and hopefully make a small difference."
The money will be spent working with the community to make small environmental improvements in the road.
The team will be attending the road with its Respect Bus on Wednesday, May 13, from 6pm to 8pm to talk to residents about their area and support them to develop a local residents’ group. Sponsorship can be sent to the Team at WASBT, PO Box 211, Wallasey, CH27 9AP.
Cheques or postal orders should be made payable to Wirral Metropolitan Borough Council.
The walk will take place on Sunday, May 17, from Seacombe Ferry to Thurstaston Country Park.
