About 20-30 mins ago I heard a massive explosion and now there are loads of sirens. Anybody else live here and know what is going on or where??

OK, this is sounding like a major incident so I'm going to have a nose and see if I can find anything out.

bloody ell its all go these days - our roving reporter J is out for the Junior Gazette.

I keep wondering if I should ring the police about when i heard the bangs last night. we thought it was the wind - rick even checked out the back to see if anything had fallen over which was about 1am. then i checked on my way up at 1.30 and nothing was amiss.

i heard shouting on the front as well but don't know what time that was - could have been once the cops were there.

Couldn't find anything but HAZMAT were out in the next road over.

It's going to bug me now. Scott may have found out a bit more.

Jac- could it be anything to do with the anti terrorist raids which are currently being reported as being carried out across the north west. There were arrests made at JMU which is not that far across the water from you.

It was closer than JMU Softy. It was maybe one or two roads up by the sounds of it. I'm sure it will be reported if it was anything big.

If people still fire off "maroons" when they're in trouble on the water here's your answer:

The time looks right too

It was a good half hour before that AR and the wrong direction. There were far too many twos for it to be just one ambulance, plus all the twos sound different and there were some of each. I'm sure it will come to light soon enough.
