Police fears for missing teenage girl


MERSEYSIDE Police is becoming increasingly concerned for the welfare of 15-year-old Jessica Holmes, who has been missing from her home on Price Street, Birkenhead, since last Thursday, February 26.

She is believed to be with a 40-year-old man.

Jessica was last seen at around 7.30pm, outside her home address and has not been in contact since then.

Jessica is described as white, 5 ft 3 ins tall and of slim build with straight dyed black hair. She was last seen wearing black trousers,a white top with silver writing and white training shoes.

She is known to go to Birkenhead town centre and other areas of Wirral.It is believed that Jessica is with a 40-year-old man called James Leslie Williams who she has known for a short time. He is described as white, 5 ft 10 ins tall and of slim build with short brown hair.

Merseyside Police would urge Jessica or James, anybody who knows of their whereabouts, or who may have seen either of them since February 26 to contact police on 0151 777 2260 or Missing People on 0500 700700

Missing teenager found safe


JESSICA Holmes, the Birkenhead teenager missing from her home since last Thursday, was found by Merseyside Police yesterday evening.

The 15-year-old was reported missing from her Price Street address on February 26, and fears for her safety were growing after it was revealed she may be in the company of 40-year-old man, James Leslie Williams.

A re-appeal for information was made yesterday and Jessica was found in the Birkenhead area at 6.30pm.

Merseyside Police says a 40-year-old local man was arrested on suspicion of abduction, but no further details around circumstances of her disappearance were revealed.

The arrested man, thought to be James Leslie Williams, is currently in custody in a police station in Merseyside and will be questioned by officers.

Jessica had last been seen outside her home address at 7.30pm on February 26.

Man in court on abduction charge

A BIRKENHEAD man has appeared in court charged with abducting a 15-year-old girl.

James Leslie Williams, 40, of St Anne Street, pleaded not guilty when he appeared before Wirral Magistrates this morning.

The case was adjourned until April 17 for committal to the Crown Court.

A bail application was refused.
