Man dies in shopping centre fall - 26th Jan 2009 1:29pm
A man has died after falling 30ft (9.1m) from a first floor balcony at the Liverpool One shopping complex.
Emergency services were called to the front of the Disney store on South John Street at 0932 GMT, said a North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) spokeswoman.
The man, believed to be in his 40s, was taken to Royal Liverpool Hospital with multiple injuries, but later died.
The complex has been cordoned off from the Odeon cinema escalators to the Disney store for investigations.
Merseyside Police are interviewing shoppers and reviewing CCTV as part of their inquiry.
