FERRY sailings between Birkenhead, Liverpool and the Isle of Man were altered due to delays to planned repair work.

The Ben-my-Chree vessel was supposed to go into dry dock from January 6 until January 9, but her owner, the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company, said an overrun delayed the work.

It means the Ben-my-Chree will carry out her scheduled services on Tuesday, January 6, but will not be available until the Sunday, January 11, service from Birkenhead at 2pm.

Sister vessel Viking will be operating while the Ben-my-Chree is in dry dock.

But she will not be able to carry out Liverpool services on January 10 and 11 because she cannot use the 12 Quays facility at Birkenhead.

The Liverpool landing stage is not available because of improvement works.

Passengers booked on the Saturday and Sunday morning sailings are being offered an alternative sailing or a refund.
