Merseyside legend Ken Dodd will be the first person to perform at Wirral's new Floral Pavilion later.
The comedian from Knotty Ash was also the last act to appear on the historic stage in New Brighton, Wirral, before it closed for refurbishment last year.
The new pavilion, which overlooks the River Mersey, includes an 800-plus seat theatre, conference and event facilities, new bars and a cafe.
Dodd, 81, will appear on stage as part of a gala and VIP evening.
