I went past on my way to college at about 5:15 - 5:20 and the flames were jumping quite high with a large plume of black smoke. No sign of the fire brigade or janitor's at that point and the road was still open.

Great pics though! Glad it wasn't as serious as it looked happy

I have the dubious pleasure of knowing councillor Hayes, we're related in a very obscure way. Why anyone in Wallasey would want to elect a young conservative I don't know... GIVE HIM HELL!

does any know how the fire started yet i havent got the papers this week ?
Posted By: BMW Joe Re: Fire At Mobil Bidston - 25th Sep 2008 8:59pm
It was suspected to have been started deliberately, probably by kids who might have been the same kids that terrorised stranded passengers at Birkenhead North train station, throwing bricks at them as their trains were cancelled due to the black smoke from the fire.

Kids of "10 - 15 year5s of age".
I don't think I would have -let- kids of that age throw bricks at me - anyone else?
