Alrite mate,
Have you tryed cutting the springs? as long as you do it the same each side and don't use heat ( burning torch ) you should be ok. Try cutting a bit at a time because you will end up with a scratched asre otherwise.

Failing that you can get custom springs made, which will be more expensive. or get a set of springs from another car ( but it can be a ball ache getting the right ones to fit.

isn't cutting the springs dangerous??

get intouch direct with a spring company to see if they actually do 60-70mm springs for your car, you might not be able to find any because many places may not stock them, by getting intouch with the manufacturer you'll get a proper answer. if they make them then somewere like demon tweeks will be able to order them in for you cool

other than that, get some 35mm springs and use some of the clamps that andy is using on the back of his civic?

hope this helps cool

If youve got the cash then get some adjustable coilovers.

has anyone heard how safe or not safe these clamps are? they look like they would work but dont wouldnt fill me with confidence i f i had em on my car. as ben said try coilovers but u wud prob need new dampers anyway if u get springs for that much a drop

ive been looking on the net and have found springs with a 50mm drop but it recomends shorter shock if this is the case how do i go about this.

Best bet may be to get some custom jobbies made up or find some fully height adjustable coilovers smile

The problem with cutting springs is your just decreasing the springs length WITHOUT stiffening them up meaning your gonna grind everybump - especially with people in the car.

Also, lowering a car by 70mm by cutting the springs that much will probably mean they fall out when the suspension is on full extension - the last thing you need on the road, and an MOT failure when test time comes round frown

there is know need now for anymore responses as demon tweeks told me that the alloys were 100pcd which was okay if they wernt multi stud fitment cause i could have used wobbly bolt but now i cant cause their are 8 holes in the wheels and the collars wont fit in them cause they make the holes smaller. It is a total nightmare trying to get second hand wheels for fiat am well fed up mad

To anyone even considering cutting their springs.....Dont do it u cheapskate chav lol(i mean it,dont do it),its unsafe and stupid! lower as much as u want/can and when going more than 30mm fit matched dampers or your handling will decrease, not increase. Also beware, any more than 40 mm and your camber angle will change by a fair amount, meaning naked inside edges of tires in half the time

My mate had a car and it handled really badly, he discovered a few months later someone had cut the springs in half!!
