Aaaaah! If it's comin from the water pump it means it's done for and you need a new one. Not too cheap I just had to do it to the Astra, you're supposed to change the cam belt at the same time too frown

The job itself was not hard, finding the leak proved some hard work. Firstly we had to run the engine to full operating temperature to pressurise the cooling system. (Due to the strange shape of the coolant resivoir our coolant pressure tested will not fit)
we established the approx. area was behind the timing belt covers, we had to remove the engine timing belt and the pulleys and then re-fit the timing belt and run the engine to full operating temp once again. then after approx 20 mins we discovered the leak coming from the core plug. We then replaced the core plug and then ran the engine to full temp to ensure the core plug had sealed fully. Once we confirmed the core plug had sealed we had to remove the timing belt and pulleys again, re-built the engine and covers, re-plenish the coolant with antifreeze mix and bleed the coolant system. Once this is all done we had to run to full temp and check the cooling system is operating correctly and the cooling fan is operation operating. Phew, Quite a task....
